New Does Not Mean Untestable
A new pipe can leak at an incompletely cured glue joint, a stressed fitting, or a connection disturbed by deck and landscape work. A conduit seal or skimmer interface can also be incomplete from installation.
The age of the system helps organize the questions, but controlled testing still decides which component failed.
Documenting Installation-Related Findings
Newer properties may still be within builder, pool-contractor, or component warranty periods. Clear photographs and test results help the owner describe the finding without overstating cause or responsibility.
Leak diagnosis identifies the water path. Contract, warranty, licensing, and construction-liability questions are outside that diagnostic scope.
Testing Newer Automation and Features
Modern pools can combine variable-speed schedules, spas, bubblers, deck jets, and water features. Each operating mode is separated so transfer or valve behavior is not mistaken for an underground leak.
Individual circuits are pressure tested whenever the installed valve layout allows it.
